  1. A search for Alvenia Cummings brought me to your site. do you have any information on her that you would share?
    Thank you.

  2. Well there is no Alvenia Cummings mentioned on this site, so it must be an old reference from the site that used to occupy this address, which was removed due to lack of interest from readers. If you found the reference on Google, they often have a ‘cached’ version listed under the excerpt they give, which will show the original page. It would take me several hours of research to find out where she was mentioned, there were thousands of pages on the old site…

  3. My great-great-grandfather Zepheniah Pinkerton McMillen (b. Ohio 1833) was a photographer (of over 40 prints) on your ClassyArts.com database. I have several scanned images of photographs of ZP McMillen, but very few of photos that he took himself. Is there a way I could view these images? My father and I are both amateur photographers ourselves: it is fascinating to consider the art and science that went into early photography.

  4. I’m not sure where you got your figures, but we don’t have any Z P McMillen prints in the ClassyArts images database yet. We do list him on the page about prolific American CDV photographers — but that data was derived from Darrah’s CDV collection, — they are probably the ones with 40 prints listed. That collection is at Penn State U. — you would have to contact them about accessing his images.

  5. A search of photography studios brought me to your site. We have a photo of a Frederick Wulfkummer (name may have been shortened to Wolf or Wulf) taken by B.F. Belmer’s Gallery. Is there more information about him from the photographer?
